Privacy Policy — Spool

Spool is a Chrome extension that helps users save products from any shopping page and create ShopMy affiliate links. This policy explains what data the extension accesses and how it is used.

Data we collect

Spool does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to its own servers. The extension has no backend of its own.

Data accessed locally

The extension reads the following information on your device only:

• Current page URL and title — to identify the product you are viewing.
• Page content — a lightweight script extracts product name, image, and price from the page you are shopping on.
• ShopMy session cookie — read solely to authenticate requests to ShopMy on your behalf. No other cookies are accessed.

This data is used only to power the extension's features in the moment and is never sent to any third party other than ShopMy.

Local storage

Spool stores the following data on your device using Chrome's local storage:

• Your saved product list.
• Cached commission rate data from ShopMy, to avoid redundant API calls.

This data never leaves your device except when sent directly to ShopMy as part of normal extension use.

Third-party services

Spool communicates with ShopMy (shopmy.us) using your existing ShopMy account session. All interactions with ShopMy are subject to ShopMy's own privacy policy. Spool does not share your data with any other third party.

Remote code

Spool does not download or execute any remotely hosted code. All extension code is bundled within the Chrome Web Store package.

Children's privacy

Spool is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
